Students from Bachata Academy visiting from Dominican Republic, came to our school to give our PS 173 students the thrilling live music experience. Everyone was blown away by these young musicians. It was an awe-inspiring show. Our students were so impressed with the performance that at the end of the show they asked the musicians for autographs.
PS 173 Student Council are ready to become the leaders at our school because they care about the school, the community, and the people. They are taking the initiative to sponsor activities and events. These events are meant to create bonds and friendships while striving to create a fun and positive difference in our school’s atmosphere. "Together We Can Make a Difference"
Reading to a child can be a rewarding and meaningful experience for the adult and the child . So, combining that concept with NYPD officers as Guest Readers to bridge the communication gap between law-enforcement and the community. This small gesture is making a difference in our community by creating positive interactions with the the New York Police Department. .
P.S173 will be participating in the Scholastic Pajama Drive. Every student received a parent letter about the event.
The collection will begin on November 8th and run until December 8th. Teachers, have designated a spot in the classroom where pajama collection is set up. Classroom have huge decorated boxes, as the children bring in the pajamas, they can drop it in the box. At the end of the drive, there will be a pajama day for all! More information about that will follow!
While the classroom teachers will have collection bins in each of their rooms, we are encouraging everyone to participate. Parents are welcome to drop off pajamas at our collection station in the Welcome Center room 211.
We are expecting 100% participation. This is not only about helping others in need, but it is also a valuable lesson of charity that we are teaching our students.
Thank you! We look forward to making this a successful event! Attached on the bottom a link for more information.
